Human-sounding voices, an 18,000-word pronunciation dictionary, smooth English and the details that make hours of listening easier. Seven features that set Rehnuma Awaz apart.
You notice a text-to-speech voice most when it gets something wrong. We designed Rehnuma Awaz so you stop noticing it: it reads Urdu the way a person would, and you get on with what you are reading. These seven features make that possible.
1. Voices that sound human
Rehnuma Awaz uses four neural Urdu voices, Akbar, Arfa, Shahid and Zainab, developed in Pakistan. They carry the rhythm and intonation of real speech, so hours of listening stay comfortable. They also stay clear at high speed, which matters if you move through text fast.
2. Pronunciation built for Urdu
Our own Urdu pronunciation engine and a hand-checked dictionary of more than 18,000 words sit behind each voice. Rehnuma Awaz reads common words, names and borrowed terms the way Pakistanis say them, instead of guessing letter by letter.
3. Numbers, dates and money, read the way people say them
Rehnuma Awaz reads "Rs. 1,500", "12/10/2026" and "2:30" the way people say them aloud. On Windows you can choose whether it reads numbers in Urdu, in English or in the language of the sentence around them.
4. Urdu and English in one sentence
Everyday Urdu borrows English words such as "mobile", "online" and "OK". Rehnuma Awaz moves between the two languages inside a sentence without a jarring gap. On Windows the Urdu voice can read short English phrases itself, so the whole sentence flows in one voice.
5. A name for each letter and mark
When you type, or move through text one character at a time, Rehnuma Awaz names each Urdu letter, diacritic, punctuation mark and Quranic symbol in Urdu. If you write, study or proofread, you know which character is under the cursor.
6. It works with the tools you already use
You do not have to learn a new screen reader. Rehnuma Awaz plugs into NVDA on Windows, TalkBack on Android and VoiceOver on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and into other apps that read text aloud. Your shortcuts, gestures and habits stay as they are.
7. Made for daily use
